CellCount is a web app with a free plan that counts cells in hemocytometer images. Photograph the chamber with a phone at the eyepiece or a microscope camera; CellCount finds the grid by itself (if the rulings cannot be found, you can place the crossings by hand), counts live and dead cells by trypan blue exclusion, and gives viability and cells per mL with the dilution you set. Every count comes back with the image and the metrics behind it.
Counting by hand today? Read how to count cells with a hemocytometer, get cells per mL and viability from the free hemocytometer calculator, or see how to count cells from a phone photo of the chamber.
Scored against expert human annotation. Detailed analysis on request.

Works with most microscope cameras. The recommended setup: a plug-and-play Scope Cam matched to your scope, counting straight into CellCount on the laptop at the bench.

The same algorithm on a chamber under your own microscope and on an export from the counter you already own, so results agree between people, instruments and days.

Viability back in seconds, for immortal cell lines and primary cells such as PBMCs.

Every cell it finds is marked on your own image. Correct anything if it's wrong, then approve the count yourself, and export the report when you need it.
Send a few images from your own microscope, or the export folder from your counter, and a founder builds a demo on exactly those. No account needed.
